Workshop was hold in Hermann-Krone-Bau (Lecture Hall, 1.11), TU Dresden, January 18th. The workshop was organizes as a hybrid event (open to public) and we had several members e.g., from CEA-LITEN, LPICM, etc.) joining online.
The LCA workshop introduced the principles and methods of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), focusing on its application to emerging technologies. Participants explored key concepts such as goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, and impact assessment, along with EU sustainability frameworks like Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD). Tools like OpenLCA and Ecoinvent were presented through a hands-on example using the OECT process. The EU’s sustainability questionnaire was introduced to guide project evaluation through self-assessment and SWOT analysis. The workshop concluded with agreement on data needs, tool compatibility, and next steps for collaborative LCA work within the project.
